After the configuration of a customer’s archive is
finished and tested, DELMIA Apriso Archiving allows for the easy migration
of prepared configurations between different databases. For this purpose
there are exporting and importing options for Archiving Processes, Archiving
Graphs, and Archiving Constraints. These are available through the (Import) and
(Export) buttons as well as from the File menu.
There are options for exporting either selected or all of the Archiving Processes, Archiving Graphs, and Archiving Constraints that exist in the database to which DELMIA Apriso Archiving is connected.
When Archiving Processes are exported, the underlying Archiving Graphs are not saved in the created file. All of the information about the current version of DELMIA Apriso Archiving, as well as information about the versions of the databases, is saved together. To facilitate the management of exported files, the user can enter a comment during the export that will be stored in the exported file. This comment can be reviewed before importing that file.
When importing Archiving Processes or Archiving Graphs, their respective names are used to find and replace them on the target database. After importing, the system may require manually refreshing the contents of the grid.
The DELMIA Apriso Archiving Engine is not dependent on the database version, but the configuration of the Archiving may depend on the schema of the database. This implies that the export file containing the Archiving Processes or Archiving Graphs needs to be prepared for each version separately.
To export one selected item, go to the specific Archiving Process, Archiving
Graph, or Archiving Constraint tab and then select the item you want to
export before pressing
(Export). Specify the destination file and an optional comment for your
export, and then press OK. Only the selected item is exported to the file
that you specify.
To export all of the items from the database you are connected to, use the File | Export All option or the Ctrl+Shift+E keyboard shortcut. All of the Archiving Processes, Archiving Graphs, and Archiving Constraints which are present on your current database will be exported to your file.
An alternative way of moving a DELMIA Apriso Archiving configuration is to use DELMIA Apriso Archiving to copy its own tables. The whole configuration – including the Archiving Constraints – may be copied using DELMIA Apriso Archiving itself, provided the user understands how the configurations in particular tables are stored. You can also use any data transformation tool to copy DELMIA Apriso Archiving tables, use DELMIA Apriso Global Process Manager, or move them manually.
