What Are Business Components?

Dassault Systèmes offers a Business Component approach to building Processes and Standard Operations in Process Builder. Business Components are basically units of functionality that manage a single business concept. Business logic (business rules) is encapsulated in an entity that can be integrated directly into a Process or Standard Operation. For example, clocking in/out, converting local time to UTC, calculating production facts and validating an employee's password are all pieces of business logic that can be delivered as Business Components.

DELMIA Apriso comes out-of-the-box with a number of readily available Business Components, covering categories as listed in a repository tree on the left. Click on a node in the hierarchy to display more information about it.

About Business Components Documentation

The documentation displayed in this pane provides an extensive summary of Business Components (BCs) available in DELMIA Apriso. The interaction between BCs is presented through flow diagrams in the category descriptions. Specific BC methods are described in detail in the method descriptions.

If you are accessing the Business Components Repository from within Process Builder, refer to the Process Builder Online Help (by pressing F1) for more information on the options the repository offers.
